Nevada – September 5, 2025 — The Coronado Cougars hosted the Higley Knights tonight in a non-conference high school football matchup that kept fans on the edge of their seats. The Cougars jumped out to an early lead but the Knights fought back, keeping the game competitive until the final moments.
The game saw Coronado take an early lead with 11 points in the first quarter, while Higley responded with strong scoring drives in the second and third quarters. Coronado’s defense held firm in the closing moments, finishing with a 24.5-20 victory.
Passing played a key role for Coronado, led by quarterback Jackson Humphries, who threw for 132 yards. Higley showed balanced offense and solid defensive tackles but couldn’t surpass Coronado’s lead.
